Elderly Pedestrian Involved in Fatal Collision with Delivery Van

82-year-old, Sally Boerschel, was hit and killed on 3/13/20 by a delivery van driver in Venice, Fl.

Venice Police Department reports that Boerschel was crossing Tampa Avenue via crosswalk when she was hit by 32-year-old, Corey L. Wyant, driving a 2019 Ford Transit E250. The driver was attempting to turn onto Tampa Ave from Nokomis Avenue.

Boerschel was rushed to Sarasota Memorial Hospital, but was unable to recover from injuries sustained from the collision.

This incident is still being investigated by Venice Police. Please call (941) 486-2444 with any information about the accident.
