Collision with SUV Leaves Pedestrian Dead

Gregory Steven Surprenant, aged 51, was hit by an SUV while walking the southbound shoulder of I-75 late on Saturday.

The fatal collision occurred near Archer Rd. Florida Highway Patrol stated that 24-year-old driver, Saida Arifbayeva, claimed Surprenant could not be seen.

Arifbayeva was driving a BMW SUV and sustained minor injuries. Surprenant was pronounced dead at the scene.

The debris left on the road caused an additional accident with Ford pickup driver, James Rigsby (48). He was uninjured.
